The painting commemorates the important moment in American history and features Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and President Obama. The painting is on display at Big Mama's Kitchen.

Patricia Barron created Big Mama's Kitchen to provide traditional African American home-cooking and a comfortable atmosphere in North Omaha. Several dishes are based on family recipes and named after local landmarks. Big Mama's Kitchen is also an important community meeting place. The restaurant has been featured on television on Travel Channel’s "Diners, Drive-Ins & Dives" and Sundance Channel’s "Ludo Bites America."

Patricia Barron's father, Basie Givens, led a succession of popular jazz bands during the 1950s and 1960s. His first band, The Jungle Rhythm Boys, was formed with friends in the 1930s. The bandmembers are shown with their homemade and hand-me-down instruments.
