This is a flag that was flown over Afghanistan during Operation Enduring Freedom in December 2012. The flag was flown by Wyman Nemecek's son-in-law, Major Jeremiah Guild. Guild flew a B1B Stealth Bomber and always flies with an American Flag.

Peh Wah Mu, a Karen woman originally from Burma, shared her story with the University of Nebraska-Lincoln History Harvest in the Fall of 2012. Peh Wah left Burma and spent twenty-five years in a Thailand refugee camp before moving to Lincoln, NE in 2009. This collections was contributed as part of the 2012 Lincoln Refugee History Harvest.

<p>Peh Wah Mu shared her traditional Karen clothing, scarves, and the Karen flag. Peh Wah Mu is originally from Burma, and spent twenty-five years in a Thailand refugee camp before moving to Lincoln, NE in 2009. In this video, Peh Wah Mu explains the meaning inherent in her clothing, as well as the symbolism and meaning of the Karen flag. The materials were hand-woven by groups of women, who sell their crafts to others. Karen residents of Lincoln often wear this traditional clothing, though many wear common American clothing as well.</p>
