Fort Kearney Hotel). The hotel began construction in 1917 and opened to for business on October 11, 1927. It stood on the corner of First Ave. and 21st Street in downtown Kearney until 1973. This photograph was taken c. late 1950s or early 1960s. The donor stated that it looks like a gathering for DECA Week (based on the posters in the background) which is held every year April 1st through the 7th in Nebraska since 1920.
